Location

Why your tour's check-in point matters more than the hotel

Page is a small town, and most hotels sit within a few minutes' drive of each other, so you can't go far wrong. What matters is where your tour checks in:

  • Downtown operators such as Antelope Canyon Tours (Ekis) at 22 S Lake Powell Blvd and Antelope Slot Canyon Tours load you onto 4x4 trucks or vans in town. Ekis says the ride to the canyon takes about 18 minutes.
  • Highway 98 operators, such as Antelope Canyon Navajo Tours at about milepost 299, check you in at the Navajo Tribal Park lot roughly 3 miles southeast of town, a 10-minute drive from most hotels.

On a prime-time light-beam slot (our light beams timing guide explains which ones), staying close means a calm morning instead of a rushed one. Not sure which tour yet? Start with Upper Antelope Canyon tours compared.

Round Out Your Stay

Other experiences you might enjoy around Page

A night or two in Page gives you time for more than the canyon. Horseshoe Bend is 5–10 minutes from downtown and best at sunset; Lower Antelope Canyon tours start across Highway 98 from Upper; and the two-hour Lake Powell photo boat tour (4.9★ from 472 reviews) leaves from Wahweap, next to Lake Powell Resort. The free Glen Canyon Dam Overlook is five minutes from town. Live availability for tours around Page is below.

Mini-Reviews

Best hotels in Page, AZ

1. Hyatt Place Page / Lake Powell: best overall

Opened in 2018 at 1126 N Navajo Dr, this is the newest mid-range build in Page and the most consistently praised. Rooms are modern, breakfast is included, and the terrace and heated outdoor pool (seasonal) have big red-rock views. The Prickly Pear restaurant on site saves a drive after a long day.

  • Pros: free hot breakfast, pet-friendly, central, fire pits, reliable cleanliness scores (Booking 8.8 for cleanliness).
  • Cons: the pool is small and closed in winter; the hotel says there's no hot tub; some reviewers mention breakfast running out at busy times. Listings disagree on parking: some say free, others $20 a day, so ask when you book.

Check prices: Hyatt Place Page / Lake Powell on Expedia

2. Lake Powell Resort (Wahweap): best for lake views

The only full-service resort on the lake, with 348 rooms beside Wahweap Marina inside Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Book a View or Deluxe View room for a balcony over the water. There are two seasonal pools, the Rainbow Room restaurant, and boat tours leave from the marina outside.

  • Pros: the setting, the marina on site, sunset dining.
  • Cons: a mandatory $14.99-a-night resort fee plus the $30 per-vehicle recreation area entrance fee add up. The entrance stations don't take cash, and a $55 Glen Canyon annual pass covers 12 months. Reviewers often call it pricey for the room quality, and it's about 15 minutes from tour check-in.
  • Pets: $30 per pet, per night, in Traditional Rooms only (not View rooms or suites).

Check prices: Lake Powell Resort on Expedia

3. Courtyard Page at Lake Powell: best pool and grounds

A Southwestern-style hotel with 153 rooms, wrapped by Lake Powell National Golf Course, with a lovely garden pool. Reviewers like the setting and the location; others say the rooms are showing their age.

  • Pros: the prettiest grounds in town, a hot tub, a restaurant on site.
  • Cons: dated rooms in some wings; downtown is about a 15-minute walk uphill.

Check prices: Courtyard Page at Lake Powell on Expedia

4. Hampton Inn & Suites Page – Lake Powell: best for road-trippers

Built in 2016 on Sandhill Rd just off US-89, with 102 rooms (58 of them suites), free breakfast and boat and RV parking. It's the closest of the big chains to Horseshoe Bend, about 5 minutes away.

  • Pros: newer rooms, easy highway access, suites for families.
  • Cons: you can't walk downtown from here, and listings disagree on whether the pool is indoor or semi-outdoor.

Check prices: Hampton Inn & Suites Page on Expedia

5. Lake Powell Motel: best for families

Built in 1960 to house Glen Canyon Dam workers, this family-run downtown motel has been renovated into roomy apartments with full kitchens, some with a washer and dryer. It's rated #1 of 28 Page hotels on Tripadvisor (4.8 from 610 reviews), and Big John's Texas BBQ is practically next door.

  • Pros: space and kitchens for the price, walkable, an owner who knows the town.
  • Cons: plain exterior, no pool, no breakfast, limited office hours.

Lake Powell Motel isn't listed on Expedia, so book with the motel directly. To compare it with other downtown stays, see all hotels in Page.

6. Red Rock Motel: best budget, and best for walking to tours

Built in 1958 on Page's "Street of Little Motels," Red Rock gets a high walkability grade on Tripadvisor. Rooms are small but renovated, with patios, grills and a shared kitchen; check-in is by door code.

  • Pros: the price, a quiet street, and you can walk to restaurants, Safeway and the Lake Powell Blvd tour offices.
  • Cons: no breakfast, no pool, few staff around, and some reviews mention noisy AC units.

Red Rock Motel isn't listed on Expedia either; book with the motel directly, or compare other budget stays in Page.

7. Other solid chain options

Best Western View of Lake Powell (the value pick with rim views, Booking 7.9, from about $89), Best Western Plus at Lake Powell (208 N Lake Powell Blvd), Quality Inn View of Lake Powell, Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn & Suites, Wingate, Days Inn & Suites, Super 8 and Motel 6 (637 S Lake Powell Blvd) round out the field. Any of them is fine if the top picks are sold out.

Unique Stays

Glamping, Navajo-owned and luxury stays

Under Canvas Lake Powell – Grand Staircase: best glamping

Safari tents with private bathrooms on 220 acres near Big Water, Utah, with its own slot canyon, Elephant Slot Canyon, on the property. In August 2023 it became what Under Canvas called the first DarkSky-certified resort in the world. It's open March 12 to October 26, 2026 (and March 11 to October 25, 2027), with rates from $237 a night. Pets are allowed for a fee.

  • Pros: stargazing you won't forget, the slot canyon on site, family-friendly activities.
  • Cons: about 25–30 minutes to Page tours; closed in winter; a strict no-food-in-tents rule; and it runs on Utah time (see the booking tips).

Check prices: Under Canvas Lake Powell – Grand Staircase on Expedia

Shash Diné EcoRetreat: best Navajo-owned stay

A small eco-retreat on Navajo land, open all year, 12 miles south of Page (US-89, then a quarter mile on Navajo Route 6211). It has just 8 units: traditional hogans, bell tents, sheepherder wagons and cabins. Breakfast is included, and there's no Wi-Fi. Most guests rave about it; a few found it poor value.

  • Pros: a genuine cultural experience, huge skies, 12.6 miles to Horseshoe Bend.
  • Cons: shared bathrooms for some units, cleaning fees, dirt roads.

Check prices: Shash Diné EcoRetreat on Expedia

Antelope Hogan Bed & Breakfast: the most authentic off-grid option

A property run by a Navajo family at Highway 98 milepost 302, about 7 miles east of Page, with traditional hogans, a Navajo breakfast and optional storytelling or dinners. It's off-grid: expect dirt floors and no electricity or AC. It isn't on Expedia; look for it on Airbnb, where it's rated about 4.6–4.7.

Amangiri: best luxury

Amangiri's 34 suites sit in the desert at Canyon Point, Utah, about 25–30 minutes from Page. Rates reported for 2026 run from roughly $3,700 to more than $9,400 a night, with all meals for two included (alcohol is extra). It's a destination in itself. Amangiri isn't listed on Expedia; book through Aman.

Camping, RVs and houseboats

  • Wahweap Campground & RV Park: run by Aramark, with reservations through lakepowell.com and a 14-night maximum. Full hookups approach $100 a night in peak season; dry sites are about $30.
  • Lone Rock Beach: primitive camping on the Utah side, where you drive onto the sand. It costs $14 per vehicle per night plus the $30 park entrance fee, first come, first served, all year.
  • Houseboats and the Floating Inn: Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas' Floating Inn is a docked 50-foot houseboat that sleeps up to 10, for $507.25 a night (2-night minimum). Full houseboat rentals start around $1,285 off-peak for the smallest boat on the 2026 rate sheet.

You'll want a car for anything outside downtown.

Farther Out

Clear Sky Resorts, Kanab and Marble Canyon

  • Clear Sky Resorts has no Page location. Its dome resorts are near the Grand Canyon South Rim (Valle/Williams, Arizona) and Bryce Canyon (Cannonville, Utah).
  • Kanab, Utah (about 75 miles) makes sense only if you're also doing Zion, Bryce or White Pocket. For Antelope Canyon, stay in Page.
  • Marble Canyon / Lees Ferry (about 44 miles) has rustic lodges such as Marble Canyon Lodge (45 rooms and 8 cottages). It's a great base for river trips or the Grand Canyon North Rim, but too far for a stress-free morning tour.

Booking Tips

Booking tips for Page hotels

  1. Book early for spring through fall. Hotels.com's 2026 averages for Page run about $85 a night in January against roughly $206–217 in May, August and September. One-night summer stays often cost more.
  2. Pick refundable rates until your tour is confirmed, then lock in.
  3. Watch the fees. Lake Powell Resort adds a $14.99-a-night resort fee and the $30 recreation area entry; Wahweap Campground adds a small resort fee too.
  4. Breakfast: Hyatt Place, Hampton Inn and Courtyard serve it (Courtyard's is a paid buffet at some rates); the independent motels generally don't.
  5. Pools are seasonal at most properties; expect them closed roughly from November to March.
  6. Pets: Hyatt Place, Lake Powell Resort (Traditional Rooms) and Under Canvas accept pets, with fees.
  7. EV chargers: what's available changes often, so filter on booking sites and confirm with the hotel.
  8. Time zones: Page and the tour operators run on Arizona time (MST, no daylight saving). Utah properties (Under Canvas, Amangiri, Lone Rock) use Mountain Daylight Time from March to early November, an hour ahead. The Navajo Nation also observes daylight saving, but the operators state their own clock, so confirm which one your ticket uses. Daylight saving ends on November 1, 2026; from then until March, Utah and Page show the same time.
  9. Where to eat: downtown has Big John's Texas BBQ, The Bird House (fried chicken) and State 48 Tavern, and Safeway for groceries.

Itinerary

How many nights in Page: overnight vs day trip

A day trip from Las Vegas works (see our Las Vegas day trip guide), but it means 9+ hours of driving. Stay overnight and you can take a midday prime-time tour without racing the clock and catch sunset at Horseshoe Bend.

One night (the minimum): arrive in the afternoon → Horseshoe Bend at sunset → sleep → an Upper Antelope morning or prime-time tour → leave.

Two nights (ideal): Day 1, Horseshoe Bend at sunset. Day 2, Upper Antelope at prime time, then an afternoon on Lake Powell or in Lower Antelope Canyon. Day 3, leave early. Our Upper Antelope and Horseshoe Bend in one day plan has the timings.

Would rather not drive between the two? The Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend & Glen Canyon Dam Tour picks up from Page hotels, with Upper or Lower options (4.6★ from only 12 reviews, so read the recent ones).

Seasons

Seasonal notes for a Page hotel stay

  • Summer (June–August): the highest demand of the year. Page's normal July high is about 98°F, and the town sees roughly 82 days a year above 90°F, so book a room with a pool and good AC.
  • Monsoon: Arizona's official monsoon season runs June 15 to September 30, and in Page the storms mostly come from July to September. Flash-flood risk can cancel slot-canyon tours, and for good reason: on August 12, 1997, a 10–30 foot wall of water in Lower Antelope Canyon killed 11 tourists. Pick flexible bookings for these months.
  • Winter (November–March): the cheapest rates and quieter canyons, but Under Canvas is closed and the pools shut. See what visiting Antelope Canyon in winter is like.

Before you go, read Antelope Canyon rules: what you can and can't bring and our guide to photographing Antelope Canyon.

FAQ

Where to stay for Antelope Canyon: questions

Is it better to stay in Page or Kanab for Antelope Canyon?

Page. It's 5–15 minutes from every Upper Antelope check-in, while Kanab is about 75 miles away. Choose Kanab only if Zion or Bryce is your main focus.

How many nights should I spend in Page?

Two nights is the sweet spot for Upper Antelope, Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell. One night works if you only want the canyon and Horseshoe Bend.

Can you walk to Antelope Canyon from hotels in Page?

No. The canyon is on Navajo land and open only on guided tours. From downtown motels such as Red Rock or Lake Powell Motel, though, you can walk to the Lake Powell Blvd tour offices, where trucks drive you in.

Which Page hotel is closest to Upper Antelope Canyon?

Antelope Hogan B&B on Highway 98 is the closest to the tribal park. Among regular hotels, anything downtown or on the south side of town is about 10 minutes away.

Are there hotels with Lake Powell views?

Yes: Lake Powell Resort is on the lakefront, and rim hotels such as Best Western View of Lake Powell, Quality Inn View of Lake Powell and Hyatt Place's terrace look out over it.

Is Under Canvas Lake Powell open in winter?

No. The 2026 season runs March 12 to October 26, and 2027 runs March 11 to October 25.

Do Utah hotels near Page use a different time zone?

In daylight-saving months, yes: Utah is one hour ahead of Page. Set your phone to the tour company's time.

What's the cheapest way to stay near Page?

Camping at Lone Rock Beach ($14 per vehicle plus park entry), or a budget downtown motel in winter.

Bottom Line

Book the tour first, then the bed

For most visitors, Hyatt Place is the safest base for the money. Red Rock Motel and Lake Powell Motel win if you want to walk to the tour offices and spend less, and Lake Powell Resort has the views. For a trip that feels special, book Under Canvas (March to October) or the Navajo-owned Shash Diné. Whichever you choose, lock in your tour time first, because the midday slots are the first to sell out.
